The event brought together officials, experts, engineering students and teachers, in order to demonstrate the operation of a water treatment plant in Dongbang village and the country’s first centralized wastewater treatment plant in Khamngoi village, both built by Hungarian main contractors and financed through the Hungarian-Lao tied aid loan program. During the field visits in the outskirts of Vientiane Capital, the participants gained valuable insights in water and wastewater management as Hungary’s flagship development projects in the Lao PDR, and were also introduced to the implementing companies.

On 12 June the Embassy of Hungary organized a water industry promotion event in collaboration with the Hungarian Laoprojekt Ltd, celebrating the recent World Water Day.
